Joe Acinapura is a retired member of the U.S. Army, having served 28 years. During that time, he received two Bronze Stars as well as the Legion of Merit (3 times). Joe was a State Representative in the State of Vermont from 2005-12. Previously he was Chair of the Vermont Parole Board. Joe has been involved in education and working with young people for many years, and was an Adjunct Professor, College of St. Joseph in Vermont.
Joe held various leadership positions in Veterans Organizations or serving Veterans interests in Vermont, such as the Commander of the Brandon VFW. In addition, he has been involved in many civic organizations and served as Chairman of the Brandon Selectboard.
He also served on the Vermont Judicial Nominating Committee, and among other awards, received the Vermont Governor Richard Snelling Award.
Joe received his BA in Mathematics from Rutgers University, his MA in Political Science from the University of Colorado and attended the U.S. War College.
Joe is married and has 2 daughters and five grandchildren.
